2017 Resolution Peaks

$53

Winemakers' Tasting Notes:

Bright ruby color and a vibrant nose of super fresh red & black fruits with a touch of dried herbs and oak spice. The wine is medium-bodied with fruit headlined by fresh raspberries and hint of vanilla and baking spice, framed by velvety soft tannins and juicy, mouthwatering acidity.

Wine Enthusiast: 92 Points, "Editor's Choice"
"Principally Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from old vines at the Dionysus vineyard, this includes 12% Cabernet Franc and a splash of Merlot. It's spicy and toasty, with ripe fruit flavors recalling strawberry preserves and cherry pie. Coffee and smoke hints thread throughout and into the finish. It's oaky in the best way and delicious from start to finish."

Wine Advocate: 90-92 Points (barrel sample)
"Tasted as a barrel sample and made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot, the 2015 Resolution Peaks is a darker, more concentrated wine that has impressive amounts of black currants, cassis, and exotic spice. It's a big, rich, full-bodied beauty that has good freshness as well as ripe tannin structure, all pointing to a long life."

International Wine Report: 92 Points
"The 2015 'Resolution Peaks' is an excellent wine which is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) with lesser parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It opens with a ripe bouquet of anise, crème de cassis and Black Forest cake. This leads to dense flavors reminiscent of coffee grounds, cassis, milk chocolate and suggestions of allspice. The texture is rich and the lingering finish is absolutely lovely. (Best 2017-2027)"
